The first chicken / day hatched in the sea eagles nest in Durbe

This season’s hatching was also conscientiously involved in male Zorro, who replaced Milda’s nest on the eggs and provided food for his partner.

As reported, two eggs were laid in the sea eagles nest this season.

Compared to last year, this year’s first egg Milda was released on March 9, which is almost two weeks earlier. However, in 2023, Milda laid the first egg on March 8. This year, the nest owners Milda and Zorro opened the new mating season in the video. A couple of Ergli in the video was visible this winter almost every day. They carefully continued to build the nest and monitor their territory, which also saw other eagles.

Milda has been with the new male Zorro since April last year, as the previous male Hugo disappeared in mid -April. At the end of April, when Milda was gone, the raven brought both eggs out of the nest, so last season in Durbe’s nest was unsuccessful.

As reported, since March 2017, a pair of eagles stayed in this nest, with nests watching the names of Milda and Raimis. The 2021 season of the Eagle Nest from the sea began with the spectators’ alarming events – the sea eagles Raimis disappeared. LDF Live Chamber Project Manager Janis Ķuze previously predicted that the female Milda, who hatched three eggs, would not be able to provide incubation, so successful nesting in this nest was unlikely. Nevertheless, two birds hatched, but due to lack of food were killed.

Since the end of April 2021, a male stayed in the nest with Milda, whom the audience gave the name K Lord. On February 18, 2022, Mr K was seen in the chamber for the last time.

On February 20, 2022, a male appeared in the nest, who was given a temporary name S Lord to whom bird watchers gave the name Voldis on March 16.

Durbe’s nest has been broadcast live since 2015. What is happening in the nest can be commented on at the « Dabasdati.lv » forum in Latvian and « Looduskalender.ee » in English.

As reported, the sea eagle’s headquarters in Kurzeme, Durbe County, is the most popular LDF live broadcast. It is located at the end of an old spruce at a height of about a nine -storey house. This nest is a live veteran – since 2015. The book « Miracleola » written by Imants Bunkis, who was hatching in 2015, is dedicated to the sea eagle, which hatches.
