« They say they are not racist »: how far -right extremism penetrated Portuguese politics
For comparison, in 2019, the party entered parliament with 1 MP (230) and put an end to the Portuguese exception from the far right. Since then, the Portuguese have voted three times: in 2022, a joke took 12 seats, in 2024 – 50. Now with its 58 seats it will have a parliamentary group as much as that of the Socialists. And he took only about 50,000 votes less of them, thus gone to get the second best result.
Left -wing
The results are not final: on May 28, the exact data will be known about how the votes of 1.5 million Portuguese abroad, who choose only four MPs (two of the mandates come from European countries). But Portugal is already different: a party has never celebrated such a fast rise in the country.
