The first photographers came to Nitrianska Street in the season.
Nitra. Sakura began to bloom on the street in the center of Nitra. The flowers open gradually, on Saturday most trees were pink. People came to them and took the first photos.
The best -known Sakur alley in the region will soon be thirty years old. The city provided it last year with complete arborist care, thus extending its lifetime.
Are in good condition
Japanese cherries attract many people every year to Fraňa Moju. They also travel from the surrounding villages to admire pink beauty and take a picture.
There are also professional photographers who have agreed clients. Blooming trees are a unique backdrop for them. This is repeated every spring.
« Sakura on this street is still in good condition, favorable for the next years, » said the city spokesman Tomáš Holúbek.
Trees regularly check visually and plan to intervene on this basis. « Last April and May, after flowering, they were completely arboristically treated. »
The city had the crowns, the arborists made a medical cut, removed dry branches and passed the profile to pass public transport buses.
The old ones were replaced by new ones
« Since we provide regular professional care and maintenance, we are not planning a complete replacement of trees yet, » the spokesman added.
Some, given their health, it was necessary to remove: « However, they were replaced by the same species in the same year. Therefore, we can say that the exchange (recovery) of the alley is continuous. »
About eighty Japanese cherries grow to Fraňa Mojta. In a smaller number we can find them in several places in Nitra.
The city was planted on Rhinska, Hviezdoslavova, Andrej Hlinka class and in the couples groves. Some trees were donated by the Japanese Embassy and the Japanese company operating in Nitra.
Sakura grows in groups as solitaires. « We are planning them to diversify the environment, to increase visual attractiveness and enrich the biodiversity of public greenery. In many cases, it is also about fulfilling the requirements from the population, » the spokesman added.
Who has planted them for the first time do not know
Last year, Sakurova bloomed on Fraňa Mojta extremely early – early April. It was about two to three weeks earlier than in previous years. This was caused by the early onset of high temperatures.
When the Japanese cherries on this street appeared for the first time, they do not record the town hall. In 1996 they replaced them – they again planted approximately eighty trees with a trunk circumference of 12-14 cm. They have bloomed for the next year.
Originally they had all, with the exception of two, pink flowers. In recent years, many branches with white flowers of wild cherry have also begun to grow.
