« For my mother, for my Unk, what was the last Dessewffy, probably Mr. Bruss did the most, and they and the whole family appreciated it very much. He picked up it, so to speak to the light of God, such a forgotten gender. We are sorry that it turned out. I believe it will be good.

Director: The collection will lend again

« Mrs. Bačová spoke to me by e -mail and asked me that she wanted to take the items back yesterday. We met yesterday (Wednesday) and we talked for an hour and a half and said they had been thinking for a long time. Since the museum was closed to take them for a while. reopening, will return them to fulfill the will of John Dessewffy and the subjects were in the museum, ”said Ľuboš Olejník, director of the Regional Museum in Prešov, who was present during the transfer of the disputes.

He described as a standard procedure that the owners would take the works back after the contract. In the case of the works in which the deadline was still running, the museum agreed to the amendment with its termination.

« We are glad that Mrs. Bačová declared that if they are needed in a permanent exhibition of Dessewffy, they will lend them to it again, » added Olejník. The manor house is expected to be reopened in a year to a year and a half.

The escalated situation in the museum

According to Olejník, this situation is not related to the events of recent months in the museum. « After yesterday’s interview with Mrs. Bačová, I am convinced of it, » he said, saying that he does not know the motives of the family and the information she came from.

« We met, I explained to her the situation that the functioning of the museum is not endangered, nine of thirteen employees in Hanušovce remains nine. The museum has a total of 31 employees. Several positions are replaced by people who have PhD.

Bruss: it’s a shame

« It is a great shame. It was the only estate that came to the museum not by nationalizing or by the decision of the District National Committee, but it was a gift of the love of the things they did. And those they borrowed were a matter of trust.
