The family festival La Ungheni – the angle – see the world as it is!

This year, Europe Day was celebrated in a special way in Ungheni, through the second edition of the Family Festival. From the point of view of this event were celebrated the European and fundamental values ​​in every human life, such as: love, solidarity and mutual support.

Hundreds of citizens from Ungheni district, but also from other localities of the country, participated in a march on the streets of the city with flags and other state symbols, manifesting their interest in the importance of European values, but also of family.
« It is a day of peace, unity and solidarity, a colorful day. We came to celebrate the beauty of diversity, traditions and aspiration to a united Europe, which starts with us, and the family is the first school of European values, » said Lilia, a resident of Ungheni.
« The family is the one that unites us, makes us better, motivates us to work, to build. The Family Festival, which already becomes traditional in Ungheni, brings us into a big, unique family, eager to go and embrace the European values, » said Vitalie Vrabie, the mayor of Ungheni, at the opening.

The holiday brought together hundreds of high -ranking participants and officials, including the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and Marta Kos, the Commission for the Extension of the European Union, who sent support messages for the European Republic of Moldova.
« Nine, to those in the European Union, we care very much about the future of the Republic of Moldova, the next generations. I want to inform you that, for the first time, we have European Commissioner for the relations between generations. In the European Union it is as in a family: even if there are discussions and controversies, there is always a consensus, » said Marta Kos, the European Commission.
« On this day, we not only celebrate the European values, but we are committed, again, to transform them here, at home. Each European project implemented in Ungheni and everywhere in the country, whether it is infrastructure, education, health or culture, is a living proof of our approach to the European Union. Part of the event were the exhibitions with local and craft products, as well as painting workshops, which reflected the essence and importance of the family. Another element of the holiday was the Eurobike race, in the second edition.
Those present enjoyed a variety of cultural-artistic activities supported by local and national artists.
The event was organized by UNICEF and the City Hall of Ungheni, within the program « EU4Moldova: key regions », funded by the European Union.
