The tristorian Polish beech grows in the historic park near the Renaissance mansion in Dalkow. In 2024 it became a Polish tree of the year with more than 10,500 votes.

« This title is a great support for the local community that can build a new story about its beautiful tree, » said Jacek Božek, President Club Gaja, which coordinates the Polish competition.

Beech Heart of the Dalkow Hills was given its name for three reasons. The European Tree of the Year competition is organized by the Environmental Partnership Association based in Brussels and in Slovakia is the organizer of the Ekopolis Foundation. Every year more than three hundred thousand people from all over Europe are involved in it and fifteen trees competed this year. The Polish trees scored the victory for the fourth time in a row.
