The European BMX Cycling Championship / Day will take place in Valmiera in July
The Championship in Valmiera will take place on the BMX track on the BMX track from July 10 to July 13.
The competition will be organized by the Latvian Cycling Federation (LRF) in cooperation with the European Cycling Union (UEC), Valmiera Municipality, Māra Strombergs Agency/BMX Club « Valmiera » and Valmiera Olympic Center.
Artis Ozols, CEO of LRF, says that Valmiera County can be proud of the BMX traditions, which can be found in the past almost 40 years. In 2019, when the European BMX Cycling Championship was held for the first time in Valmiera, the competition brought together 1060 participants from 26 countries.
« We have all the prerequisites for this year’s more powerful Valmiera to strengthen its place in the European BMX competition calendar and confirm it for the second time – the responsible attitude of the organizers, the high -level track, the professional team for the organization of a high quality event, a supportive and hospitable local community, » he continued.
Janis Baiks, Chairman of the Valmiera Municipality Council (« Valmiera and Vidzeme »), said that Valmiera has confirmed the ability to organize events at a high level when taking various levels of BMX cycling competitions.
« The competition is both economical benefits in the development of the county and the country, as well as the long -term contribution to promoting Valmiera and Latvia, as a training, competition and tourist destination. It is also a great opportunity for Latvian future champions to grow up and experience international competition on the home track, » he added.
The European Championship will take place for the second time in Valmiera.
