The EU will build some artificial intelligence megafabrics
The European Union has announced that three to five new megafabrics equipped with large supercomputers will open in Europe as part of a plan of 20 billion euros to develop a new generation of artificial intelligence models (AI), opening the door for changes to its law regulating technology.
Encourage Europe’s turning strategy to a « continent of artificial intelligence », European Commission Vice President Hena Virkunen said the goal of the plan is to make Europe more competitive, safer and technologically sovereign.
The EU has already begun implementing a plan to build 13 artificial intelligence plants-locations with supercomputers and data centers where researchers develop and test artificial intelligence models.
The new artificial intelligence megafabrics, to be built as part of the 20 billion euro plan, would be much greater, aiming at what the European Commission has labeled as important innovations in health, biotechnology, industry, robotics and scientific progress.
While high -performance factories of it have supercomputers equipped with up to 25,000 advanced processors of it, a megafabrika would pass 100,000 he, according to the strategy document.
