The Estonian Basketball Team in the European Championship Finals will play in the sub -group Riga / Day

The other four teams playing in Riga will be determined by the European Championship group raffle on March 27.

Since the 2015 European Championship Final Tournament, the country may be selected by one country – a partner – whose selection is included in the group. Finland has announced that its partner country will be Lithuania, Poland and Cyprus will make their choice announced later.

« Since playing basketball in Latvia, colleagues in Estonia have been both principled rivals on the field and responsive partners in organizing games and tournaments for different levels of teams, as well as celebrating the Basketball Festival together, » said LBS President Raimonds Vējonis.

« This was ten years ago when we organized the 2015 European Championship Group Tournament and the Estonian national colors were gorgeous to both Arena and Riga. I am convinced that this summer our neighbor's skillful team and active fans will contribute a great deal of European championship success story, » Vejonis continued.

In turn, President of the Estonian Basketball Federation, Pritt, highlighted that the organization wants to provide easier game access to fans of its national team.

« Estonian fans are ready to follow our national unit to the end of the world, supporting them in both wins and failures. Therefore, the Federation is responsible for ensuring that the European Championship's trip is accessible to our supporters as possible, and I am pleased that we managed to implement it, » Sarapu explained.

The European Championship group tournaments in Riga, Katowice, Limassol and Tampere will take place from August 27 to September 4. The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs, which will take place in Riga from 6 to 14 September.
