The door opened the long -awaited space

The residents of Palanga and many guests gathered for the festive opening ceremony on Vytauto Street, where there were no applause and greetings.

« I want to be pleased that Palanga youth will now have their own space – a modern, cozy, well -visible center in the very heart of Palanga. I wish it is a place where ideas and dreams are born, » said Palanga Mayor Šarūnas Vaitkus.

The event was decorated with the performance of the dance studio Palanga Weatherstate and the solemn music of the orchestra.

The culmination of the ceremony celebration became the unveiling of a symbolic sculpture.

This work of art will now remind you that youth is not only age, but the courage to create and not be afraid to share your ideas.

I wish it would be a place where ideas are born and dreams come true.

The history of building creation is a great example of a community and a return to their native country, as the mayor emphasized that the project was prepared by architects returning to Palanga after studying in Vilnius.

This, he says, is a beautiful symbol that young people return to create and live in their hometown.

The team is pleased that the new space will be open not only for active young people, but also for all members of the community, both young and older.

There will be events, discussions, volunteering projects and creative initiatives.

According to Palanga City Municipality, this is the first and so far the only newly built building for youth and volunteering in Lithuania after the restoration of independence.

Construction began in 2021. At the end of the 19th century, and today is already enjoying the results.

« Most importantly, young people have to go back, so I wish that this center becomes not only a place for activities, but also a safe, warm second home, » said Algirdas Stončaitis, Chancellor of the Seimas, greeted the Palanga community.

During the opening, viewers were able to visit exhibitions « Volunteering Roads » and « That Youth in those days » and participate in a discussion about the vision of the Center.

The evening was completed by DJ performances, debut of the band « 12 Eyes » and a concert by the band’s « Jetu ».

The event ended with a youthful disco and a movie evening.

The center door is open to anyone who wants to volunteer, create, meet or just be among like -minded people.

The Palanga Youth and Volunteering Center invites everyone to create changes together – because communion and activity change the city.
