The distant coast of Jaksa and Hrepe celebrates 40 years: ‘Return to 1985’

Far shore Jaksa and Hrepe He will perform on Friday, April 11, in the Booleo Club Hall and mark the 40th anniversary of Hrepin, the co -foundation of the far shore, when the multimedia exhibition on 1985 and the first line -up of the Far Shore will be held, the organizer of the Boogaloo Zagreb concert announced.

Marijan Ban and Hrepa in 1985 in Split founded a band of the Far Coast, whose sound was based on a mixture of rock, blues, rockabilly and country. The first studio album ‘Far Coast’ was recorded in 1990, followed by five more releases.

Twenty years after the band’s discharge (2001), the distant coast, with the new singer Jaksa Jordes, whom Ban supported, continued with concert and record work. At the end of 2023, there was a re -dispenser of the distant coast, after which Jaksa and Hrepa founded the distant coast of Jaksa and Hrepa, with drummer Igor Sega and bassist Mira Tabak.

On the same day the concert is held, at 7 pm in the small Boogaloo Hall will open the multimedia exhibition ‘Return to 1985’, the author’s project Boris Hrepic Hrepe. The documentary retrospective leads us back to the summer of 1985, to the very beginnings of the far shore and their first lineup (Marijan Ban, Boris Hrepić Hrepa, Željko Hajsok Malac, Aleksandar Radović Aco).

Exhibition ‘Return to 1985’-a time machine through the history of the band, under the organizational baton of Leonore Bedic, will be available to visitors until April 18 (admission is free). Through archival photographs, documents, video materials and audio records, the audience will be able to peek into the intimate moments of the band’s creation – from the first meeting, the first rehearsals and concerts to the first mini tour and study recording.

A special part of the exhibition is a series of photographs of the famous Split photographer Feđa Klarić, including the exhibit with his works from the exhibition ‘Split 1985s’. The multimedia segment of the exhibition brings a documentary view of the time – statements of managers, testimonies of contemporaries and animated sequences that revive the sound and visual records of the first concerts.
