The Health Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia confirmed that, together with the National Laboratory for Health, several samples of drinking water were taken in the area in the vicinity of the Maximarket. The results of laboratory analyzes are still waiting.
The Maximarket department store in Ljubljana, managed by Mercator, was detected a week ago by digestive problems with staff. On Tuesday, they detected an infection of unknown origin between clients and staff. It turned out that the water in the water supply system is fecally contaminated. Due to disadvantages, several employees of nearby buildings have been absent in recent days, including National Assembly deputies and NLB employees and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. According to the National Institute of Public Health, more than 30 people have contracted, and by Friday at noon, about 70 people called.
