Destroyed Tax University in Irpen
The winner of the International Architectural Competition for the Design Project of Reconstruction of the Main Corps of the State Tax University in Irpen, destroyed during hostilities, has announced the architectural company Stantec (Canada).
About it reported University press service.
« Rebuilding the main building of the University is not only the issue of infrastructure. We want it to be a modern campus – an innovative and comfortable place for learning, research and student life.
At the same time, it is important for us to involve international experience to rely not only on our own vision, but also on the best world and Ukrainian practices, » – commented on the acting rector of the DPU Dmitry Serebryansky.
Stantec is an international company with headquarters in Edmonton. Among its most famous projects is the expansion of the Panama Canal, the projection of Vancouver International Airport, as well as one of the terminals of Toronto Airport.
We will remind that more than half of the buildings of the STA were damaged in the spring of 2022 as a result of active fighting and partial occupation of Irpen by Russian military.
Nevertheless, the learning process was continued by rapidly small repair, but in the future the university is in dire need of full recovery.
In November 2024, the DPU together with American partners announced an open international architectural competition for the best design project for the new main building.
497 applicants from 86 countries were registered to participate in the competition, of which 49 projects from 18 countries were submitted, and five projects were submitted.
