Amendments to the law on churches and parishes, also known as the bill on the EPC MP (the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate), will go to the second reading in the legal commission on Monday. Changes in the ruling coalition will not affect the consideration of the bill, they said Err Members of Riigikogu.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, which is responsible for the preparation of this bill, has confirmed that the bill on amendments to the law on churches and parishes will be considered on the second reading in the legal commission, as planned.

The chairman of the legal commission, the Social Democrat Andre Hanimyagi assured that he did not see the reasons why the so-called government repairs should suspend the consideration of this bill.

“This bill is initiated by the government, and two-thirds of the government still remain in their places. I also do not believe that members of the commission will sharply change their position 180 degrees, ”he said.
