Košice. Well -known Košice groceries near the city center decades two oversized works of art. Today, one of them is removed, the other awaits the same fate in late May. However, they should return to the public space.
The current story of the rescue of reliefs by the prominent Slovak author Imrich Vanek is the cooperation of artists, activists, monuments and developers.
The Košice people know Košice called Čížik. However, it will replace the same residence with 66 apartments. The project already has a valid building permit.
« We have known for a long time that there would be apartments, but we did not know how much it would cost. When it was pricked, the developer decided what to do, but decided and decided to return for about two years, they are already incorporated into an architectural project, » says well -known Košice artist Andrea Čepiššáková.
It specifies that there is only one certified restorer of ceramics in Slovakia, Martin Rosenberger from Levoča.

Imrich Vanek (1931 – 2015) was a Slovak visual artist and sculptor working mainly in the media of ceramics.
Since the second half of the 60s he has realized numerous large -format ceramic walls, reliefs and paintings, which he created in collaboration with architects thanks to the so -called. Čepiššáková, as a graduated ceramic, knew Master Vanek personally.
« His work is extremely timeless. I perceive him a bit as a master Math. When you look at his works, these are things of world importance. It is incredible how masterfully grasped in oversized areas of ceramics. »

Monument Juraj Gembický explains that the initial initiative for universal protection of all works of art in public space in Košice was their inclusion to the sights of the city as early as 2014.
