The death balance from shooting at school in Graz has climbed to 10 people
The death toll in a school attack in the Austrian city of Graz has reached 10- Austrian APA agency said.
The victims include students, at least one adult and the suspected attacker, Graz Mayor Elke Car confirmed, adding that there were many injuries. According to local media, the attacker is probably a student at the school and has taken his life in the toilet.
According to initial police information, the attacker probably acted alone. Around noon, authorities said the situation was under control and no danger to citizens’ safety, and ambulances began to withdraw from the scene of the attack.
The children from the school were transferred to the Helmut List Hall Hall, where they took care of them teams of Emergency and the Red Cross.
Police have launched an investigation into determining the attacker’s motives.
After the first shots, the area around the school was blocked by police around 10am. The students were evacuated, and citizens were called to avoid the zone and follow the instructions of security forces. The area remains under police blockade, and public transport routes have changed. Heavy armed policemen provide all intersections around the school.
