After the sudden and premature death of one of the most famous Croatian jazz musicians Matija Dedichis daughter Lu Dedic (23) She has publicly said goodbye to her father an emotional message she shared on social networks.
– It is unthinkable that you are gone, that I will not see you again, but I will remain strong because you have admired my strength the most. You always said that I was a strong lioness and you emotional fish. These were some of our favorite topics: astrology, numerology, mystery, conspiracy theory … The topics we have been stretched out in your kitchen for hours with coffee and cigarettes. I inherited this, among other things, from you: daydreaming, lush, unstoppable imagination and philosophizing by searching for a wide image and deeper meaning of everything around on – the LU began.
Lu thanked Matija for his care, tenderness and support during her life.
« You kept me as a drop of water in the palm of your hand, your daughter unit, » she wrote, adding that she would fulfill their common dreams and continue with his musical rates. In her post, she also referred to their recent professional cooperation.
– In this unfortunately, too short the period we spent together, we arrived and professionally collaborated, which I am infinitely grateful to, ”she said, concluded: ‘Once again, thank you for everything, and now rest, my Daddy’.

Lu Dedic has often performed with her father in recent years, especially at concerts in honor of her grandfather Arsen Dedic. At the end of March this year, they performed together in Karlovac, as part of the Porin Week, and last year and in Sibenik at the manifestation ‘Arsen, a man as I did’, where Lu performed his grandfather’s song ‘Dida mine’.

The young musician slowly but surely builds her own path. She’s already collaborated with Leo Deklevshe presented herself with the songs ‘Real Things’ and ‘The Last Hours of Summer’ to the audience, and last year she also performed on Dori with the song ‘Blue Butterfly’.
– At first, I felt some kind of burden because they were high expectations, there would always be comparison, but I eventually reconciled myself to it. I simply carry that pride of my last name because of my family and that is the only thing I want to feel, ”she said at the time.

Recall, Matija Dedic passed away at the age of 53. He was a respected pianist, a composer and one of the most important jazz musicians in the region. The son of Arsen Dedic and Gabi Novak, Matija has built his career a degree in a tremendous passion, and his legacy will forever remain written in Croatian music history.
The commemoration, as LU announced via Instagram, will be held on Thursday, June 12 at 11 o’clock in the small hall of Vatroslav Lisinski. The last farewell will be held in the family circle.
