The Danish Transport Agency will raise the price of a driver’s license: So expensive

A new award is on its way to the country’s motorists and moped drivers.

The Danish Transport Agency has sent a revised notice in consultation, and the changes will be felt in the purse for those who need a new driver’s license, pass tests or simply regain the right to drive

The reason for the adjustments is the desire to make the area the cost deck. The fees in the driver’s license area are therefore raised by 25 percent.

This means, among other things, that a regular driving test will in future cost DKK 1,250 against the current 1,000. And if you need a controlling driving test, the amount rises to DKK 1,510.

It writes the Danish Transport Authority in one press release

Price increases are also added to issues and renewals of a driver’s license. A duplicate driver’s license will in future cost 460 kroner, while it was previously 370.

Even the international version that many holidaymakers demand are getting a smaller but noticeable increase from 30 to 40 kroner.

« We need to ensure that the fees reflect the actual expenses of administration and holding of samples, » reads the rationale from the board, thus signaling a clear link between service and payment.

However, it is not only a driver’s license that is affected by the changes. Also, trials of self -driving vehicles are adjusted the fee structure, as well as national individual approvals of new motor vehicles are now charged.

The Danish Transport Agency emphasizes that several of the fees are integrated into existing schemes, such as the visual fee.

The proposal was sent in consultation with the deadline of June 10. If it is adopted, the changes will come into force as early as July 1st.

Thus, motorists and driving school students have only a few weeks to complete their tests or applications if they want to avoid the extra cost.
