The danger is not high but is present

The risk of something happening due to earthquakes in Grindavík is not high at this moment, but the danger exists, however, according to Benedikt Gunnar Ófeigsson, professional director of deformation measurements at the Icelandic Meteorological Office.

An open presentation meeting on the status of earthquakes in Grindavík took place today. Benedikt believes that it should be considered to change the way the risk card is shared with the public.

« I think this is about how we disseminate this information. It’s not just under the Icelandic Meteorological Office, I think that in order to meet these views, more people need to come.
