The Dance Prize Viewers’ Vote / Day began

Dance Prize Ceremony, which will take place this year at the Concert Hall Cesis On April 29, two LSM.lv readers’ awards will be awarded. The ceremony will be followed live on the Latvian Social Media portal lsm.lv and content player replay.lv, while the deferred live broadcast will be LTV1.

As the nominated works are extremely diverse, the division in the categories of « Production » and « Event » is conditional, assessing whether the work is viewed as a format in form, or has a different format, a broader context and influence on the dance industry process. In the readers’ vote, performances of all genres are evaluated in one place, emphasizing the award as a unifying event for the dance industry.

You can vote for your favorites once a day on lsm.lv, authorizing your social media profile or email and selecting one job in each category. The vote will last until April 24th 23.59. Participants of the vote will have the opportunity to register for the lottery. At the end of the vote, one participant will be drawn to receive two invitations to the dance prize ceremony. The winner of the ceremony will be contacted personally.

As always, a video advertisement has also been created with a month of dance prize that calls on the public to focus on the rich range of events in the Latvian dance industry over the last two years, as well as to be alongside the artists at the time they receive an assessment of the work they have invested and achieved.

The ceremony consists of director Jānis Znotiņš, director assistant Agate Bankava, screenwriter Ance Muižniece, visual artist Pamela Butane, choreographers Liene Grava and Reinis Rešetins (stage folk dance), Eiden William Konefriy (Ballet) Anastasia Yaswin and dancers (contemporary dances), musical design author and composer Reinis Sējāns, video projection artist Tom Zeļģis and the author of the light concept Martins Feldmanis.

The dance prize is the highest award in professional dance art. It is awarded every two years in ballet, contemporary dance, stage folk dance and contemporary dance for achievements in the creation of new production, performance and dance events, as well as in pedagogical and research. The Dance Prize is organized by the Latvian Dance Information Center in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Cesis Municipality. Cesis, in the form of a public promise to implement a cultural program prepared for the application of the European Capital of Culture 2027, is implementing an ambitious cycle of cultural events together with the county parishes and shines as the Latvian Capital of Culture with a slogan in 2025 Culture in the heads, castles, backyards.
