BRATISLAVA. The section of the D1 motorway near Bratislava after 8 pm closed on both directions, the reason is the concrete of the bridge that connects the village of Ivanka pri Dunaji and Croatian Grob. The restriction should last until Sunday (8 June) in the afternoon, the National Highway Company (NDS) announced.

Highwaymen explained that the limitation requires the nature of the work and safety of dozens of workers. “In the direction of Bratislava there will be closed section from the intersection Senec to Golden sands. In the direction of Trnava, the closure will be shorter, only from golden sands to the Bernolákovo intersection (Triblavina), « said the NDS media communication.“ In order to reduce the impact of the transport closure, the exit will be temporarily opened from the intersection to D1 in the direction of Trnava.

The closure in both directions will start on Saturday at 20.00, and will end on Sunday afternoon. Work could only complicate intensive rains. The detour route will lead along the so -called Old Senec road.

Highwaymen reminded that the modernization of D1 in front of Bratislava and the D1/D4 intersection represent the most important investment in road infrastructure in western Slovakia and already the interconnection of bypass and D1 relieves the capital, especially from transit traffic. « Just for March and April, the completed branch from D4 to D1 has diverted more than 40,000 trucks from Bratislava, » added the NDS media communication.

She also reminded the recent opening of the Golden Piesky – Jarovce branch, which allows the inhabitants of the eastern part of the capital more comfortable to connect to the bypass of Bratislava.
