The department posted information about an unexpected gift on Wednesday, May 28 on the X. Virtual currency was obtained by the ministry as a gift from an anonymous private person in March this year. Novinky.CZ website reports that the authorities are now going to separate money as part of the Czech justice system, for example among the victims of crime, in order to combat cybercrime or for the prison service of the Czech Republic struggling with financial difficulties.

The last public electronic auction took place on Tuesday, May 27. 78 electronic auctions were successfully carried out, and 956.8 million crowns were sent to the state property

Vladimír řepka, a spokesman for the ministry, added in an interview with Novinky.Cz that the influence of the auction would be used to help victims of crime, financing the fight against cybercrime and the development of the material and technical base of the judiciary and the prison service of the Czech Republic. The Czech justice minister Pavel Blažek will provide more information on this subject at a press conference on Thursday, May 29.
The ministry got money from an anonymous donor
The website of the State Representation Office in property matters shows that public electronic auctions of Bitcoins belonging to the Ministry of Justice took place from the end of March to Tuesday, May 27. These auctions show that the ministry has sold a total of almost 470 bitcoins.
Novinky.cz say that the department, as part of the auction through the state office, most often sold a package of five Bitcoins. While at the end of March and early April he received about 9 million crowns for them, due to the growing price of this virtual currency on the market, the amounts gradually increased to over 11.8 million crowns for the same number of five pieces.
In sixteen cases, the ministry sold ten Bitcoins at the same time, and the amounts obtained for this package ranged from 20.3 million crowns in April to almost 23 million crowns in May.
