The court in Moscow sentenced the former general director of FSUE “National Operator for Radioactive Waste Management” (part of Rosatom), the FSB reserve Igor Igin. The Khamovnichesky district court of the capital was sentenced to the criminal case of the former General Director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “National Operator for Radioactive Waste Management” (but RAO) Igor Igina. He was charged with the receipt of especially large bribes (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and the illegal acquisition and storage of weapons (part 1 of article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Criminal case In relation to Igor Igina, the MIS of the Investigative Committee in Moscow was excited on July 24, 2023. According to the prosecution, the general director of the FSUE but RAO, who at that time was the “sole executive body of the enterprise”, received 132.5 million rubles in August -December 2022 in August – the financial director of Spetskoye Project LLC. The bribe takers, in the case materials, were the co -owners of the Special Project, the general director of LLC Vadim Korolev and his deputy for development Sergey Gulyaev. Thus, he believes the investigation, they wanted to thank Mr. Igina for the conclusion of four state contracts in 2018, 2020 and 2021, as well as ensure the further patronage of the company on his part. Entrepreneurs took into account that it was on Igor Igina that the acceptance of the work performed by the LLC, the elimination of the problems arising during the execution of state contracts, as well as “the creation of favorable conditions” for the work of the contractors in the future.
LLC « Special Project » creates objects of processing, storage, burial of radioactive waste and other objects of atomic energy.
The general director of the Special Project and his deputy was charged with a bribe on an especially large scale (part 5 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), Kira Teterina – mediation in bribery (part 4 of article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). All three preferred to cooperate with the investigation, and Sergey Gulyaev even wrote a confession. Their affairs are in separate production.
It should be noted that during the searches at the place of residence, Mr. Igina found an unregistered Nagan revolver, in connection with which another episode, which was not related to bribes, appeared in the case.
During the debate, the state prosecution asked to appoint a defendant on both episodes the final punishment in the form of 12 years in prison.
The defendant did not admit his guilt either during the investigation or in the trial. The side of protection during the debate asked Mr. Igina to justify due to the lack of an event of a crime. Lawyer Anton Kozhemyakin said that his client did not receive any bribes, since the contracts themselves were not particularly attractive to the contractors, and « during the searches, the operatives found some rusty gun. »
Earlier, the other lawyer of Mr. Igina Ivan Nefedov noted that the accusation against his client is based only on the testimony of Kira Teterina and Sergey Gulyaev, who had grounds for the slander of the defendant. The fact is, he reported that Igor Igin himself submitted a statement of fraud against them. Igin receiving money, according to the defender, was not confirmed by either the evidence or testimony of witnesses.
Judge Diana Mishchenko nevertheless found Igor Igina guilty and sentenced the episode to receive bribes to the ten years of the colony, and for the “weapons” episode – by three years. By partial addition of punishments, the defendant received 11 years of a maximum security colony, he will also have to pay a fine in a two -time bribe – 265 million rubles. Protection intends to appeal the verdict.
Recall that during his stay in the pre -trial detention center, Igor Igin asked him to send him to his, but the court did not satisfy his petition.
