In Kharkiv region, a couple who worked for Russian intelligence were sentenced to 15 years in prison.
The couple issued themselves as zools and traveled to the region, looking for locations with the Ukrainian military.

The man and the woman were looking for the personnel of the defense forces, as well as the place of treatment of wounded Ukrainian defenders.
”By seeing themselves as zooms who take care of homeless animals, they went around the terrain allegedly searching for abandoned pets.
To take away suspicions, a man and a woman even arranged on the territory of their own homeownership « shelter« , – said in the prosecutor’s office.
Law enforcement officers found that the man and the woman were recruited by their acquaintance, who is a Russian curator in the Kharkiv direction. He is currently in one of the temporarily occupied areas and cooperates with Russian military intelligence.

”Law enforcement officers detained the spouses at the place of residence in January 2025. During the sanctioned searches they had mobile phones with evidence of illegal activity« , – said in the prosecutor’s office.
They expected in custody. During the trial, they fully pleaded their guilt.
The court found them guilty of treason (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and appointed 15 years in prison. He also decided to confiscate their property.
