The country doctor’s office: location – rotary ban in Bayrischzell?

The evening series « The Land Practice » has been a great success for the private broadcaster in the past two years Sat.1 highlighted. From October 16, 2023 to January 10, 2024, season 1 of the series ran over the screens every evening. Season 2 was broadcast from May 7th to August 28, 2024. Learning locations of « The Land Practice »: Where is the SAT.1 series shot?

The country doctor’s office plays in the fictional place « Wiesenkirchen », which is located on Schliersee, about 50 km away from Munich. In contrast to the devoted scene of the event, the lake actually exists. He is in the Bavarian Alps in the district of Miesbach. The place of the same name is Schliersee of the same name on the north bank and is a popular holiday destination, as you can ski here both in summer and in winter. Between the scenes of the series, landscapes from the lake, the mountains and the forests of the region can be seen again and again.

The “Alte Post” inn is also a central place in the “Land Practice” series. After Sarah and Leo moved from Berlin to Wiesenkirchen, this inn becomes their first destination. Her main concern is to report to the local country doctor Fabian (Oliver Franck) that Leo is his daughter.

In the course of the series, the “Alte Post” becomes the meeting point for various figures again and again. The inn is operated in « The Land Practice » by Donato (Antonio Totignano) and his daughter Bianca (Rosetta Pedone), which later also play an important role in the plot. The choice of the inn as a location was not accidental: it embodies the character of a traditional Bavarian inn. In addition, the surroundings in the Bavarian Alpine foothills offer a suitable backdrop.

If you want to visit the locations yourself, you can also take a seat on the bench where Leo (Katharina Hirschberg) and Basti (Simon Lucas) met in the series. It is located in the parking lot from the Schliersee lido.

Airting ban in Bayrischzell: What does that mean for « the country doctor’s office »?

The municipality of Bayrischzell, which is about 15 kilometers east of the Schliersee, was one of the locations of the first season. Togance in the Upper Bavarian community will be regulated in the future, which is why from now on no further filming for « the country doctor’s office » in Bayrischzell can be carried out.

Sat.1-Senders Christoph Körfer, however, gave the all -clear: « The second season ‘The Land Practice’ is shot again in the mountains around the wonderful Schliersee and Schliersee. For the fans of country doctors Dr. Sarah König and the idyllic meadow church, nothing is changing. Why? In season 1 there were exactly two shoots on public places in Bayrischzell. » The location was therefore not an important location for the evening series anyway.
