The cost of the IT specialists can reach up to 500 million rubles. per year

According to the calculations of the Ward Howell consulting company, the costs of the work of the IT specialists team hired for the development of projects to implement artificial intelligence technologies (AI) in the processes of large companies can reach half a billion rubles a year. Such impressive costs are caused by a deficiency of relevant specialists with high demand for their services. In the future, experts believe, it will only increase-including due to a lack of personnel, which will have to be replenished with IT solutions.

The work of a team of IT specialists involved in the implementation of AI-technologies into production processes can cost Russian companies up to 500 million rubles. per year. Such estimates in the report “AI requires professionals-what is needed to create and develop AI teams” are given by Ward Howell consulting company analysts. They summarized the experience of large Russian business from areas such as finances, retail, IT, logistics, telecom, hospitality services and production.

As follows from the report, the average salaries of the Middle developers are in the range from 200 thousand to 500 thousand rubles. per month, Senior-450-700 thousand rubles, expert-leaders-from 700 thousand rubles, but more often-higher than 1 million rubles. Therefore, investments of companies at the start are from 50 million rubles. In the year – for this money you can hire a minimum team of two people and buy basic software. The budget of the full implementation of large projects can be 300-500 million rubles. per year-including labor costs, equipment and infrastructure (office, backing business, administrative expenses and so on).

High salaries of specialists of the AI-Government are the result of personnel deficiency, the authors of the report note. Closing positions occurs due to active lure of personnel.

At the same time, most companies have new candidates – the only source of personnel, since they do not have their own specialized reserve. It should be noted that the state is formed by the additional demand for AI specialists, since the Ministry of Economy is now conducting the third wave of selection of research centers engaged in developments in this area (See “Kommersant” from March 1).

Independent consultant Alexei Mironov notes that only the most stable Russian business can now afford to invest in AI projects. “Most are forced primarily to solve the problems associated with current challenges, such as the high cost of borrowed money and a slowdown in the pace of economic development,” he says.

“According to our own research, about a third of large Russian companies are currently engaged in the active implementation of AI and say that this practice has become universal is still early. Business stops not only the high cost of such projects, but also uncertainty in the calculations of their payback, ”says Anastasia Petrovich, director of the REGROUP consulting company projects.

At the same time, notes Elena Kuznetsova, head of the Jacob and Partners Economics Institute, and in the future there will be inevitably more.

In particular, the companies will push the companies a shortage of specialists necessary for their basic functions. “The Russian labor market will remain laborious on the horizon until 2030 at least, which means an incentive to increase the performance of the business will be,” the expert says. In particular, even at the current level of development can replace part of the IT specialists-this process, judging by the reduction in the number of vacancies in the industry this year, may already be in (more details See “Kommersant” from March 16).
