On Thursday, the capital signed a contract with the contractor of the new trolleybus track Patrónka – Riviera. Work for several years of planned electrification of line 32 from Long parts to the main station will start in a few weeks.

The new track budget is EUR 15.7 million and it will be paid by the European Union, said the Mayor Matúš Vallo.

The new track connects the tram line to long parts with other trolleybus tracks of the capital. It will be two three -kilometer sections through Botanická Street and Mlynská dolina in both directions.

« This is exactly the section that will allow better use of ecological transport that will lighten this part of the city from the exhalates, » Vallo said.

After building a new track, the city promises more frequent interval of line 32. On line 33 from Long Parts on Riviera, they want to replace 12-meter vehicles with 18-meter joint trolleybus, which can fit half more passengers.

Connecting long parts

The trolleybus is already driving on long parts. “It is an island trolleybus track that is not connected to the other trolleybus network in Bratislava And this project will be secured, ”says Deputy Prime Minister of Bratislava Tatiana Kratochvílová.

Part of the tram line is already ready for the trolleybus line, they adapted the columns when they repaired the track to Dúbravka. New poles will be built in Mlynská dolina.

The city promises that the restrictions that will accompany the construction should not be significant. Since the Mlynská dolina road is two -way, the traffic or the construction of traction lines will divert the traffic into one lane.

Long -prepared track

« The project has been prepared a long time ago, that we now have the opportunity to finance it from European sources, helped to speed up the implementation, » says Kratochvílová.

In January 2025 the city announced a competition for the contractor. « Today we have signed a contract, the supplier has several weeks to prepare the construction, and the construction should start over the month, » says Deputy. The date of construction is nine, maybe eight months.
