The College of Physicians intervenes in the controversies related to vaccination
The College of Physicians in Romania (CMR) sent a message on Sunday that emphasizes that health should not become a subject of controversy without foundation, and vaccination is one of the safest and most effective ways to protect our health, and the doctor’s advice, it is essential to be heard.
‘In terms of health, it is essential to listen to the advice of the professional, the specialist, the doctor. All the right decisions in health must be based on science, medical expertise and, above all, on evidence -based medicine. These are the foundations of a responsible practice and a society that protects their health. Public health should not become a subject of controversy without foundation. Decisions that influence collective health must be made by balance and based on medical expertise, not according to conjunctural interests or opinions without scientific support. Vaccination is one of the safest and most effective ways to protect our health. He has prevented millions of illnesses and saved countless lives’, says in the CMR message, posted on his Facebook page.
CMR also shows that ‘confidence in health professionals and the public health system is essential’, and our country also needs health education.
‘Only through evidence -based medicine, open dialogue, correct communication, professionalism, responsibility and institutional support can we protect public health and prevent the return of some long -controlled risks. Romania needs health education. Romania needs a society to understand that medicine is based on medical evidence, the ones we have at that time, not on assumptions. The voice of the doctors must be heard in terms of health. The Romanian College of Physicians will continue to be an active voice in supporting responsible and efficient public health policies, to defend the role of the doctor in the community and to promote the collaboration between all the actors involved in protecting the life and health of the citizens. Health is not a subject of controversy, it is a right, but also a debt we have towards ourselves and to others! ‘, It is mentioned in the message sent on Sunday by the Romanian College.
