The city will be shaken by the European Karate Kiokushin Championship

400 athletes from 18 European countries will demonstrate their craftsmanship in the championship. The port city will be represented by the students of Karate Kiokushin Clubs Okinava (head Diana Mačiūtė) and Shodan (leader Lukas Kubilius).
The name of Klaipeda in the European Championship for the first time sounded loud in 2008. At the time, D. Mačiūtė, a Klaipėda match in Bulgaria in Bulgaria, dressed in a bronze medal in Klaipėda.
According to the head of the Okinava club herself, even after such a long time, it is very gratifying and symbolic that the European Karate Kiokushin Championship came to Klaipeda.

Famous by spectacular achievements
The names of the Okinava and Shodan, the clubs of the port city, which have long traditions, are already widely known outside Lithuania.
2024. As many as 10 Okinava athletes became European karate kiokushin champions. In addition to D. Mačiūtė, this title has been owned by Rima Lisinskaitė and Matas Sasnauskas for three consecutive years in a row, and young talent Nikas Kvasys has won five gold and one silver medal in the European Championships in one year.
D. Mačiūtė is the first woman in Lithuania to defend 5 Dan black belt. Two three Okinawa athletes are defended every year.
The first is 1996. Established – Karate Kiokushin Club in Klaipeda also takes care of children’s employment in competitions, camps and other events.
Shodan, which has remained one of the strongest Lithuanian and European karate clubs for more than a decade, can be proud of the more solid achievements.
Develops martial arts talents
Every year, dozens of Shodan school students are launched in the national team of Lithuania, who are delighted with the prize places at the European Championships.
Club leader L. Kubilius is the winner of the world absolute weight category bronze and plus 85 kg World Cup Silver and Bronze winner. Six times European champion coach Event Gužauskas has also won a 95 kg world champion title.
Shodan has been famous for the 16th consecutive year in a row, and is the most Lithuanian team of Lithuanian national team and European Championship winners in the country.
Seven students from Okinava and 24 Shodan club will defend the name of Klaipeda at the European Championship.
