It is an unprecedented upheaval for twenty years in the world of television: from next Friday, June 6, many channels change their number, – including those of continuous information, grouped from 13 to 16 -, And another makes his arrival, T18. The vast majority of televisions will automatically make the numbering update on the night of Thursday to Friday, or will offer it to ignition on D -Day. In rare cases, it will be necessary to proceed to an automatic search.
These are mainly new habits to take for viewers, that the channels have anticipated by information campaigns in recent weeks. This large rocking flows From the end of February on digital terrestrial television (TNT) of the C8 and NRJ12 channels. This opened the possibility of a more logical restoration of the channels, decided by Arch, the audiovisual regulator.
However, so -called historical chains are not affected. The most spectacular modification is the constitution of a block dedicated to continuous information: the BFM TV and CNews leaders, previously numbers 15 and 16, will move forward in 13 and 14. LCI (Canal 26) and France Info (27) will take places 15 and 16. Increased competition is looming on this field of information, which is not just happy, in particular BFMTV which is already losing its established position and dethroned in recent months in hearing by CNews.
The evolution of these four numbers is possible because the public channels LCP and Public Senate, which are currently sharing the Canal 13, will make a leap until number 8. And France 4, youth and cultural channel of France Télévisions, will leave the number 14 to replace Canal + on the 4. Thus France 2, France 3, France 4 and France 5 will follow itself on the zappette.
The logos of France 2, France 3, France 4 and France 5 will however disappear from the antenna from June 6 and will be replaced by the « Unique media brand » France.tv, announced the president of the public group, Delphine Ernotte Cunci. Canal decided to remove its four TNT paid channels (Canal +, Canal + Cinema, Canal + Sport, Planet), in reaction in particular to the non-renewal of the frequency of C8, which belonged to it.
Gulli, the children’s children’s channel M6, will swap number 18 against the 12, left vacant by NRJ12. In December, the Arcom had dismissed C8 and NRJ12, and selected two new channels: one created by the CMI France group, of the Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky, the other by Ouest-France.
The first, called T18, will be launched with fanfare on June 6 on Canal 18, the second, Novo19, on the 19th from September 1. Directed by Christopher Baldelli, T18 will press the button we At 7:45 p.m. Friday with the ex-Star of France 2 Laurent Ruquier, who will present the grid. Several other branches have been led to rethink their offer, notably France 4, which wants to turn to families more. This general change has been a first since the creation of TNT in 2005 because, until then, the latest arrivals took the latest issues. Arch has led consultations with the channels on this subject, which remains crucial despite an increasing viewing of programs via platforms.
