The ceasefire between Pakistan and India has been extended – Cyprus Newspaper
The ceasefire, which entered into force on May 10 between Pakistan and India, was extended until 18 May.
The ceasefire, which was announced after the climbing tension after India’s attacks on Pakistan on May 7, was extended by the agreement of the parties.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the ceasefire, which entered into force on May 10, announced that the military delegations were extended until May 14th.
In addition to this development, Dar pointed out that direct political dialogue between the two countries is essential for a permanent solution.
Tension climbs
The terrorist attack on April 22 in the town of Cemmu and Kashmir, India and 26 civilians lost their lives in the town of Kashmir, raised blood pressure between two nuclear powers.
While India argued that Pakistan was behind the attack, Islamabad rejected this claim in a definite language.
Thereupon, India, « Sindoor Operation » with the military operation in Pakistan « terror infrastructures » in Pakistan announced. Pakistan responded to this with the Operation Bunyan-Un-Marsoos.
Mutual operations caused severe losses in both countries. In the attacks, 51 people in Pakistan and 31 people in India died.
The extension of the ceasefire is considered a critical step for the fall of blood pressure in the region.
