Previously, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced that he ordered his foreign and defense ministers, Andrii Sibiga, respectively Rustem Histrov to contact their Chinese counterparts to explain the involvement of Chinese citizens in the war taken by Russia in Ukraine.

« I asked the foreign minister and the defense minister to contact their Chinese counterparts to give us an explanation and take the necessary measures, » Zelenski said in a press conference, shortly after announcing the capture of two Chinese citizens who fought with Russian troops in the Donetk region (East).

At the same time, Zelenski urged Ukraine’s partners to react and stressed the need to address this issue with the US.

« We believe firmly that, after this situation, Americans should discuss more with the Ukrainians, » said President Zelenski, who hopes that the US will reconsider their decision not to participate in the Summit of Ukraine’s military partners on Friday, after these events have become known.

Last week, several international media reported that the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, will not attend the future meeting with 50 states to coordinate military support for Ukraine, for the first time since the creation of this cooperation format. This is expected to have on April 11, in Brussels.

During a press conference in Kiev, Volodimir Zelenski explained that Ukrainian troops came to fight near the villages Tarasivka and Bilogorivka in Donetsk with six Chinese soldiers, two of whom were taken prisoners. By announcing the capture of the first Chinese soldiers taking part in Russia’s war in Ukraine, Zelenski said the number of Chinese passport holders fighting with Russian troops in Ukraine could be much higher, according to the media quoted.
