“Five teams of the EMS left the bases in Frýdek-Místek, Havířov and Nošovice. Rescuers provided pre -hospital emergency care to a total of nine passengers. They were all conscious and beyond the direct threat to life, ”said rescue spokesman Lukáš Humpl.
They were seven school age girls, a 23 -year -old woman and a seventy -seven -year -old man. They suffered mostly light or moderate injuries, mostly heads, limbs, in one case also heads and chest. “After the treatment, patients were handed over to hospital ambulances in Havířov and Frýdek-Místek. In connection with the accident, interventions of the EMS also worked on the site of the event, ”said Humpl.
Firefighters also went to the place. Upon arrival, they found that the bus was located outside the road in a ditch and lies on the right side. “Firefighters secured the vehicle against the fire, while the intervening components with passenger evacuation began. The evacuation bus was provided for them, ”said firefighter spokesman Adam Fojtík.
Police are now investigating the causes of the accident. “At the moment, an oncoming vehicle was supposed to pass the place. The bus driver drove on the shoulder and then the bus rolled over to the right side, ”said police spokeswoman Eva Michalíková.
