The bulb draws attention, it is forbidden!
The Central Electoral Bureau drew attention on Saturday that photography or filming by any means of the ballot is prohibited.
The BEC reaction comes after the online environment appeared, in the last two days, posts of some people who are filmed in the voting booth and make these records public.
‘Given the multiple notifications regarding people who are filmed in the voting booth and make public the records in the online environment, revealing their voting option and violating the secret of the vote, the Central Electoral Bureau draws attention to the illicit character of this behavior. These actions contravene the provisions of art. 37 para. (2) of Law no. 370/2004, according to which ‘the means used in the election campaign cannot contravene the law order’. Also, they violate the provisions of art. 11 para. (1) of the decision of the Central Electoral Bureau no. 22D/2025 regarding some measures for the exercise of the right to vote in the elections for the President of Romania in 2025 under conditions of legality, equality and integrity, which stipulates that « photography or filming by any means of the ballot is prohibited », it is stated in a BEC statement.
According to the quoted source, ‘such actions are confined to the contraventions provided by art. 55 letter. m) of Law no. 370/2004 and can attract the contravention liability, under the conditions established by the legislation in force, the notifications received being transmitted to the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police ‘.
