The best ABA league coach was selected with 84.9 percent of total votes – Sports
The Basketball Trainer of the future Andrej Jacelj was declared the best Coaches of the Aba League in the 2024/25 season, in the traditional choice, which includes the voices of coaches of league teams, basketball journalists and fans.
Jaceljwho took over the rudder of Podgorica at half of the season 2023/24, and now the second season leads a team of the future, convincingly triumphed in voting with as much as 84.9 percent of total votes. At the second place, he completed the trainer of Igokee Nenad Stefanović with 6.4 percent, while the third place was taken by Zvezdan Mitrović from Cedevita Olympia with 5.2 percent of the vote.
It is especially emphasized that Jacelj won first place in all three categories of voting – in coaches, journalists and fans, which further confirms its dominant season.
Jacelj has won the Aba Super Countup, and this year, he achieved the first place in the regular season this year, overcoming all competitors from the top of the table. This is the best placement of Podgorica in League part since the 2015/16 Season, and only the second time in history that the season ends in a constant position.
In the same traditional survey, in which members of the ideal five and awarded individual prizes were elected, the scoring system included the coach votes (85%), journalists (10%) and fans (5%).
Among individual acknowledgments, the best shooter of the 2024/25 season is a playmaker Igokee Brajs Jones, who recorded an average of 18.4 points per game. Jones left behind Vladimir Mihailovic from Zadar (16.3 points per match) and Erik Nila from the Student Center (16.1).
