The President of the Independent Police Trade Union Martin Efremov announced today the protest of the police officers in front of the Basic Civil Court in Skopje, with the aim of unique lawsuit and minimum wage for police officers, in accordance with the Minimum Wage Law.

As Efremov explained, the salary of police officers, in accordance with the Minimum Wage Law and the collective agreement, is made up of a basic salary and an increase of 30 percent, as well as other past labor supplements. Says the basic salary in the state cannot be lower than the minimum wage.

– The salary of the police, in accordance with the law and the collective agreement, is made up of a basic salary and an increase of 30 percent, as well as other past labor supplements, etc. According to the Minimum Wage Act, the basic salary in the state cannot be lower than the minimum wage, and then those increase of 30 percent, accessories and so on. So far, the Courts of Appeals in Bitola and Gostivar confirm that what we are saying is so, we have already confirmed judgments that calculate the difference in the minimum wage, but the Skopje Court of Appeal has probably calculated that they are very much in the state, so they are now trying to make it possible, Courts, and are trying to make a completely different practice that will say that the basic salary, in terms of the minimum wage in the law, should be seen together by increasing- said Efremov.

Asked how much the basic salary of police officers is currently, Efremov said the basic salary of police officers currently amounts to about 25,000 denars, which, he says, is 1,000 denars above the minimum wage.

– They say that it is calculated together with the increase, and so it turns out that a police officer receives about 25,000 denars, which is 1,000 denars above the minimum wage. But if we separate those 30 percent, then where the basis is- says Efremov.

He noted that the Independent Police Union had filed a complaint against four judges from the Skopje courts about a month ago, ie against Gordana Bilevska and Besnik Avdija of the Basic Civil Court, as well as against Mary Dika and Sande Zikov of the Skopje Court of Appeal.

– About a month ago, the Independent Police Union filed a complaint against four judges from the Skopje courts. Two of the Basic Civic Court and two of the Skopje Court of Appeal, ie Gordana Bilevska and Besnik Avdija of the Basic Civil Court and Mary Dika and Sande Zikov of the Skopje Court of Appeal, because they were counseling at the Interior Ministry, and because we suspect that the ministry as a party in the case.

The complaints, he says, is aimed at excluding judges from the cases, as the union believes they want to change the case law from the Courts of Appeals in Gostivar and Bitola, and that, he added, is « the salary of police officers is made up of a basic salary and an increase of 20 and 30 percent. »

– We have filed a complaint in order to request their exclusion from the cases, because we think they want to change the case law we have in the Courts of Appeals in Gostivar and Bitola, which is – the salary of the police officers is made up of a basic salary and an increase of 20 or 30 percent. The basic salary in the country must be the minimum wage in the country and it is already confirmed, as I have already said from the basic and appealing courts in Bitola and Gostivar, and that must be so in Skopje- said Jemov.

After the complaint, he added, the Skopje Court of Appeal came out with a denial that stated that there was no decision on these cases yet and the Court of Appeal had not been ordered.

– After our complaint, the Skopje Court of Appeal came out with a denial saying that there is still no decision on these cases and has not come to the Court of Appeal, so we want to show this decision that decides to quash that first-instance verdict, which is another evidence in what kind of chaos,

He noted that tomorrow’s protest was notified of several fraternal unions from Europe and the Balkans, after which some of them expected to be present tomorrow.

– To that end, we have informed all of our brotherly unions from Europe and the Balkans, so tomorrow at the junction of Mavrovka we will hold a major police protest where we will have colleagues from the Balkan states, which will jointly send a message to the judges not to play with the law, because the law can not be affected by the law. Tomorrow we start at 12 pm, and we will end at around 1pm in front of the Judicial Council, where we say they are a little and those 2 percent confidence that the citizens have and if something is not clear about how they should judge, neither the Ministry nor the Independent Union of Police, but to ask their colleagues, and to ask their colleagues and Faculty- said Efremov.
