The attacker from the Krakow park was suffocating a woman. Then the mother’s body was found
On Friday, May 9, around noon in the Krakow Park there was a brutal attack. The 48-year-old man was to germinate a random woman’s mouth, then threw himself at her and began to choke. Witnesses reacted quickly. They overpowered the attacker and gave them to the police.
At the same time, disturbing words began to circulate around the assault in the park. The man was to shout that « doctors hurt his child » and that the woman he attacked was a doctor. Initially, this version was also provided by the prosecutor’s office in a message published on the X.
The correction came quickly
The victim was not a doctor. She was supposed to be in the park accidentally. And accidentally became the target of the attack.
– Initially, information was reported that she was a doctor. However, after verification it was established that it was not a person practicing a medical profession-said in an interview with « Fakt » by prosecutor Oliwia Bożek-Michalec from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Krakow.
This attack had a different background than initially thought. He was not aimed at a specific person. It looked more like an explosion – inaccurate, aggressive, aimed at someone who was simply at hand. Initially, the witnesses could seem to be a robbery, because the man jerked a woman’s purse. As investigators say, he behaved irrationally.
The detainee went to police custody. On Saturday, May 10, the officers went to his place of residence in the rock to learn more about his mental state and possible motives.
What they found at home shocked everyone.
A 79-year-old woman was revealed on the spot. It was a man’s mother. There were cut wounds around her neck. The prosecutor’s office says directly: most likely there was a murder.
The investigation in this matter continues. For now, nobody wants to speculate what exactly managed the 48-year-old or what the relationship was between his behavior in the park and the tragedy at home. The prosecutor’s office announces that the detainee will soon be questioned.
