Košice. The popular hiking trail between Košice housing estates Tahanovce and Furča will be changed.

Land will be extended from the forest fund
Several years of the asphalt cycle route project through Tahanovsky forest park from Chinese street is getting to the final. The city district of the housing estate Tahanovce also provides a zoning decision to the building permit to the 760-meter sidewalk.

Another project for cyclists fell
In the next phase, benches, baskets, bicycle stands, or information boards are to be added. The new asphalt forest section will end at the exit of the forest park with a strikingly high billboard.
« There is already a gravel road around the cottages, under which there are a lot of landowners. If we had a nice way to equalize it, it would be the perfect way to cycling to the green yard and water reservoirs on the other side. It is another project for the future, ”adds Mayor Ihnát.
In the Ťahanovce housing estate, which has a long -term problem with unsettled land, it is a problem to build a cycle path where it would be most demanded. Due to many landowners, the project of a bike trail in the American class failed.
Prefers to macadas with a gutter
Adrián Chreň from the Košice Cyclo -Coalition Association thinks that the new pavement will increase the quality of people’s movement through the forest park.
« For people who live in Tahanovce and Furč, it will be a great recreation area. It is a good start to make the whole forest parking a much more beautiful, more functional and recreational place for the inhabitants. »
At the same time, he adds that this route for cyclists is not common, everyday, but rather a holiday weekend.
According to Chreň, however, asphalt is not the most suitable surface into the forest. « But he certainly has its supporters. Makadam reinforced would be better because it is semi -permeable, but at the same time it is also more expensive, because it needs to be slope and made around the water drain troughs. »
Pedestrians and cyclists should be separated
The cycling worker recalls that on shared walkways for pedestrians, cyclists, scooters and doggies, they tend to be struggling, as the asphalt will allow cyclists to go faster than they have gone until now.
« Abroad, pedestrians and cycling trails tend to be completely separate, especially from each other, or at least separated by a physical barrier, » he describes more elegant solutions.
The new cycling trail in the Tahan Forest Park will look at the interesting facts when it is open.
« But I would welcome, for example, Eurovelo, smoothly alongside the entire Hornád length. This could have a really nice effect on social driving when cyclists can ride side by side and talk to peace without endangering other people. »
