The architect who designed the Children’s Health Center died

Bolechowski, belonging to the Warsaw branch of SARP since 1968, He gained publicity mainly thanks to the Children’s Health Center project. This unique center, also planned as a monument, remained one of the most important achievements of his career.

Professional path
Bolechowski was born in 1939 and belonged to the Mazovian District Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland. ATended the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology in 1968., and from 1986 he had the status of an architect of the creator.

An indoor Olympic swimming pool in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, awarded with the third degree of distinction of the Minister of Transport and Construction in 2005, as well as the Budzik clinic in the capital. The beginnings and development of the Children’s Health Center
The facility in Międzylesie is considered to be one of the most innovative in the country, combining healing, rehabilitation, scientific and training functions. It provides care in 17 clinics, and in many specialist clinics and hospital pharmacy.
The concept of the hospital-monitor was proposed by writer Ewa Szelburg-Zarembina In 1965, to honor the youngest victims of World War II. Three years later, the Social Committee for the Construction of the Monument was established, in 1969. In cooperation with the Association of Polish Architects, a project competition was announced. The team, created by Jacek Bolechowski, Andrzej Bołtucia and Andrzej Zieliński, won.
The erection act was solemnly embedded on June 3, 1973, starting many years of work. In 1977, the first pavilions A, B and C, was completed And then, after 2 years, another group of five facilities, including an eleven -story building with hospital wards. The last stage of works was closed in 1991.
