The anti -fascist resistance laid the foundations of Slovenian statehood
Prime minister Robert Golob In a speech at the national ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Ljubljana, May 9, emphasized the commitment of peace in foreign policy, as he is convinced that « the path to peace can offer humanity the future. » Both Prime Minister and President Marijan Križman They estimated that the promise of « never again » was in a serious ordeal today.
The pigeon recalled that eighty years ago, the darkest period in the history of mankind, which was at the same time was the beginning of a civilizational promise of « never again », ended. « But this one is in a serious ordeal today, even in Europe, » he said. Today is therefore not only a holiday, but also a reminder that « evil never arises from force but from silence. » So he urged that the day of victory should be « the day of the truth, when we will make it clear that the truth is that they were fascism, Nazism and with them also collaboration, evil. The rebellion, however, was not only necessary and honorable, but also fair. «
The Prime Minister emphasized that the partisan resistance was the one who laid the foundations of Slovenian statehood and that makes us our country today. He stressed that all Slovenian heroes for the last hundred years, from General Maister fighters to the fighters of the Territorial Defense, socialize faith in freedom and immense love for their mother tongue and the Slovenian nation, and their struggle was victorious for courage and resistance.

The Prime Minister noted that although Europe was also created at the ruins of World War II, the latter failed to fully maintain peace. « Unfortunately, especially in Europe, as well as in Slovenia, forces are rising at the moment, which we were convinced of ten years ago that there would never be again, » he said, measuring the right populists. According to him, they « act on the same principle – they deny and falsify history, deny and corrupt the truth, spread doubts, hatred and hatred of the community grow from doubt. »
The pigeon added that « right populism is not a defense of any values, but merely abuse of values, so it must be said to be determined. » He claimed that the government will insist on the values of the social and rule of law, since « Slovenia, as a social and rule of law, is not just the heritage of the past, but that it is the only future that our children deserve. »
In his welcoming speech, Križman also found that eight decades ago it seemed that the evil of fascism and Nazism was finally overcome. However, there are around 60 war foci worldwide today, the foundation of the post -war arrangement is demolished, and the world is at the threshold of a new Cold War, where former allies have become opponents.

« The Liberation Front and the Partisan Movement give us all the moral right to repeat: never again, » said Križman. He called for a voice to raise his voice against a new arms match, wars, violence, modern imperialism and for peace, coexistence, the blessing of people, the world without atomic weapons, respect for international law and the implementation of the principles of the Declaration of Human Rights.
Križman added that Europe must end the US vassal and that it would be time for a representative of the Italian state to pay tribute to the victims in Bazovica, the gravel pit and others who were victims merely because they were Slovenes. Their message « We did not die in vain » and the greetings « Death to Fascism – Freedom of the nation », in his opinion, are not a bloated phrase, but have a deep message of opposition to modern fascism.
