The annual Early Music Festival / Day will take place in Riga and Rundale
The festival will feature masterpieces of Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, George Friedrich Handel and other outstanding Baroque composers. The special event of the festival will be Antonio Vivaldi’s violin concert cycle Seasons Play in the Rundale Palace Garden where you will perform Berlin Philharmonic Concert Master, Japanese violinist Daišin Kashimoto with the orchestra Sinfonietta Riga. A new musical performance for children, « Princess and three magic puzzles » will combine popular artists in Latvia. Italian key violin virtuoso Mark Ambrozins and the historic key intrumatist Ieva Saliete invites you to listen to the creative work of Baroque great Johann Sebastian Bach.
July 8 In John’s Church An ancient music festival will discover Johann Sebastian Bach High Mesa, which is considered one of the peaks of world sacred music. It is both the culmination of the composer’s creative heritage and a personal summary of spiritual experience – a masterpiece that violates time, style and denomination. And today we have the privilege of hearing Johann Sebastian Bach’s life as a united whole over time and space. Chamber Orchestra will participate in the concert under the guidance of conductor Kaspars Putnins Sinfonietta Riga, Latvian Radio Choir and outstanding soloists-soprano Gunta Gelgote, soprano Ilze Grēvele-Skaraine, mezzo-soprano Dorothea Binerte, tenor Nicholas Malroy and Bass Baritone Rihards Miller.
On July 11, Johann Sebastian Bach – Marko Ambrozins (keyboard) and Ieva Saliete (organ additive) will be heard at the Small Guild. The same as a rare key was watched in person. This sound -colored and visually binding instrument in the Baroque and Renaissance has been heard in a wide variety of contexts and was known in almost all of Europe. In today’s time, one of this intrument virtuoso is the Italian master Marko Ambrozini, who, together with our own harpsichord and other historic keyboard instruments, will merge Eve Salieti in a coherent duo, where the focus of German big Master Johann Sebastian Bach.
July 11, Riga The concert will be performed by the leading medieval and Renaissance vocal group in the Baltic States Schola Cantorum Riga, specializing in the authentic singing of the Gregorian Coral. Ieva Nīmane and Edgars Kārklis will complement the concert with the songs.
On July 12, the concerts at Rundale Palace will start events for children – various creative workshops and a musical performance Princess and three magic puzzles. The musical tale will be full of unusual events and bright images. Starring soloists – Jolanta Strikaite, Mārtiņš Zvīgulis, Gundars Grasbergs, Markus Riva, Evija Martinson. A special atmosphere will be created by Peter Vaickovsky (Klavesin), Raimonds Melderis (Baroque violin), Ainārs Paukšēns (Viola da Gamba), Ieva Niemane (Ancient Foam Instruments), Mārtiņš Milevskis (percussion), storyteller Karina Berzina and contemporary dance group Wendy Dancers.
On the evening of July 12, the festival will be completed by Antonio Vivaldi Violin Concerts in the Rundale Palace Garden Seasons – One of the most popular opuses of academic music, which has experienced countless recordings and interpretations worldwide. In the first part of the concert we will hear the pearls of 18th century music – alongside the French Baroque representative Jean Philip Ramo for the allegorical tragedy Zoroastr There will also be fragments from the glorified collection of German master George Philip Telman Tafelmusik and his compatriot George Friedrich Handel iconic Concerti Grossi. But the second part of the concert with the chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Riga, Under conductor Andris Veismanis, Vivaldi Seasons will play the bright Berlin Philharmonic Concertmaster, violinist daishin Kashimoto.
