The Affordable Medicines Program has been expanded for pregnant and cancer patients

The government has expanded the list of drugs available. Soon, Ukrainians will be able to receive medicines for pregnant and cancer patients free of charge or with partial payment.
This was reported in National Service Health of Ukraine and Ministry Health care.
From August 2025 to the program will be added medicines for prevention and treatment anemia In pregnant women. The list will be expanded with biconal iron in the form of tablets, solutions and syrups, as well as folic acid in tablet form.
Also to the program will add new drugs for treatment cardiovascular and cerebrovascular (blood vessels of the brain) diseases:
- indapamide, torasemide – to control blood pressure and reduce edema;
- Methyldopa – for the treatment of hypertension.
In addition, from October 2025, Ukrainians will be able to obtain drugs for the treatment of cancer for the first time. The list will be expanded with medicines used for hormone therapy for breast cancer:
- installum;
- Letrozole;
- Tamoxifen.
The MoH noted that in to the state budget For 2025, a record amount for the Affordable Medicines Program was provided – over UAH 6 billion. The department believes that more than 500,000 Ukrainians will be able to receive treatment.
