Nokia Pitkäniemi’s empty hospital building has been broken into. The burglary was observed when the authors released a video of the social media video service in Tiktok.

In the area, building 9 was broken, which has been empty since 2012. No vandalism has been observed in the building.

Real estate manager Petri Laurikka From the Pirkanmaa Welfare Area (Pirha) says that according to the videos published in Somme, the premises have been visited a few times between March and April. Videos have been published with different usernames.

« Based on that, at this point, I could imagine that there are different factors. »

The burglary came to light during the service round in late March. Tiktok videos were told by the employee. According to Laurika, the authors have broken the front door during breaking.

Laurikka says that a crime report has been reported to the police. Records of the area surveillance cameras have not yet been reviewed. « Certainly, Tiktok videos will have access to the authors, » Laurikka estimates.

Now the area’s camera surveillance has been increased. Alarm systems have also been added and guarding has been improved. « The worry is that the action will continue. We want to make it clear that we do not allow it and react quickly. »

In the past there was a psychiatric hospital in Pitkäsäniemi that moved to new premises in Tampere in 2024.
