The 5 tips to avoid your clothes smelling moldy when you wipe it inside
Every tithe even feels uncertain about putting on clothes that are dried inside, as they simply have a fear that it will smell moist. 18 percent admit that they take the clothes off the drying rack too early, leading to a musty odor.
But it is the reality for many who either lack outdoor drying space or cannot rely on the unstable Danish weather. But now Sophie Liard, in collaboration with Lenor Outdoorable, has shared his best tips for drying clothes inside.
First of all, she says you have to ‘take time’ as it is the key to the clothes drying properly and retaining a fresh scent.
« Even if you live in an apartment and have to wipe your clothes inside, or if the rain is toppling in April, it doesn’t mean your clothes need to smell moldy, » she says, according to Express.
« Sometimes, because of the weather or lack of space outside, we have to dry clothes inside. It can lead to damp odor – both in the clothes and in the room. We hope to be able to remedy this by mimicking the sun’s effect on wet textiles so that they also smell fresh when they dry indoors, » says a Lenor Outdoorable representative.
The 5 best tips for drying laundry indoors
1. Hang the clothes nicely up
Make sure the clothes do not overlap and hang it properly on the drying rack bars. Many people throw the clothes on in a hurry, but it actually makes it take longer to dry. It is more effective to hang it up nicely from the start.
2. Avoid overfilling
This applies to both the washing machine and the drying rack – instead of washing and drying everything at once, it is better to wash and dry a little at a time.
3. Work from below and up
Hang small items like underwear at the bottom and larger pieces of clothing, e.g. Shirts, top.
4. Be careful of delicate textiles
Use a separate drying rack for delicate fabrics, or hang them on hangers to avoid stretching and damage. You can easily ruin your shirts by not doing it before.
5. Use rinse aid
Rinse softener gives the clothes a fresh scent, as if it had been dried outside – even if dried inside. It’s perfect when the weather does not allow outdoor drying.
