The 25-year-old fireman died after beating. Monitoring reveals dramatic scenes
The tragedy in Biały Dunajec (Lesser Poland Voivodeship) took place on the night of August 1-2, 2024. 25-year-old Paweł Ziętkiewicz was asked by his colleagues to bring Burgers to the fire station. The young fireman did not think for a long time. He got into the car and drove. There was a quarrel and a fight in the firehouse between Paweł and one of the older colleagues.

Monitoring recordings leave no doubt that Paweł was beaten. The 25-year-old was attacked many times and hit the head by another firefighter. The film shows how Paweł sitting at the table is hit on the head several times. The young fireman had no chance in a clash with his friend. He fell to the floor several times. He was bleeding. Other firefighters watched everything. Nobody stood up for Paweł.
The same fireman who beat Paweł later walks him home. It is at 2. Then the young fireman is still in contact. He was to tell his parents that he left the car keys and the phone in the firehouse. He returns for them. As Gazeta Krakowska reports a moment later, the mother and sister find a 25-year-old lying at the firehouse. There is no contact with him anymore.
The prosecutor’s office in Zakopane is not charged
Paweł is first taken to the hospital in Zakopane. Later he finds neurology in Nowy Targ. The fight for his life is underway. Unfortunately, after 10 days the young fireman loses her. The autopsy showed that the direct cause of the 25-year-old’s death was a subdard hematoma. The experts, however, were not able to state in what circumstances it was created. Only additional expert opinions showed that Paweł’s head injuries arose as a result of a fall and hitting on a hard ground.
According to « Gazeta Krakowska », the investigation was conducted in the matter of unintentional causal of death. In an additional expertise, the experts said, however, that the hematoma could have arisen as a result of the fall and hit by Paweł’s head on a stone, which was in the place where his mother and sister found him. The family believes that this is impossible, because then Paweł’s injuries would be on the other side of the head.
The fireman’s family is fighting for justice
The investigation in the case is still ongoing. For now, however, no one has heard the allegations and it is not known if he will ever hear. – Currently gathered in the investigation, the evidence, at the current stage of the proceedings, does not give grounds to assign people inside the fire station in Biały Dunajec criminal liability for the offense under Art. 160 § 1 or § 3 of the Penal Code – gave Gazeta Krakowska Aneta Hładki, District Prosecutor in Zakopane.
The prosecutor’s office is waiting for subsequent opinions, which will go to experts designed to determine the course of the event, which led to the death of a young fireman from Biały Dunajec. – My son is dead. He was beaten and died. We buried it. I go to him to the cemetery every day. And there is still no guilty – says the resentful mother of the deceased firefighter.
