The 11-year-old on an electric scooter collided with a car. He was hospitalized
Fortunately, thanks to his helmet, he avoided serious injuries. The police call for prudence and compliance with the regulations regarding moving on electric scooters.
Collision in Augustów
The incident occurred on Młyńska Street, where a group of teenagers traveled with electric scooters on the road. The 11-year-old tried to overtake a friend, which led to a collision with Toyota on the opposite direction. The boy was taken to hospital, but thanks to the helmet he avoided serious injuries.
No required rights
It turned out that the boy did not have a bicycle card and borrowed a scooter from a friend. The police remind you that children aged 10 to 18 must have a bicycle card or driving license category AM, A1, B1 or T to move with an electric scooter.
Rules for moving on electric scooters
Electric scooters should move on bicycle or lane roads for bicycles. In the absence of such roads, you can drive on the road if the speed on it does not exceed 30 km/h. You should go on the sidewalk at a speed similar to pedestrian speed.
Safety in the first place
Although the regulations do not require wearing helmets, the police recommend using them to increase safety. Wearing a helmet can save lives and reduce the risk of serious injuries while driving on an electric scooter.
