In 2024 the income declared in Italy (tax year 2023) exceeded the thousand billion (1,027.7 billion) of euros of total total, reported by over 42.5 million taxpayers. The comparison on the year

The podium: from Portofino to Basiglio

The top ten
Based on the data of the MEF, the editorial platform with, in collaboration with Corriere.it, has created an interactive national map where you can view the income of each Italian municipality. In fourth place, for the first time among the highest positions of the list, there is Solonghelloin the province of Alessandria, with a gross average gross income of 47,801 euros. The location, which has 197 inhabitants in total, is known for the production of the wines Barolo and Nebbiolo, as well as for having hosted one of the factories of the Bulgarian luxury company in the past. According to the mayor, Mario Auritano, however, « the increase in income is probably also due to foreigners who have decided to invest in the area ». They follow in the fifth and sixth place Cusago (Milan) and Torre d’Isola (Pavia)respectively with 41,987 and 40,682 of average as gross income. In a ranking, which shows that citizens with greater wealth tend to prefer the province, aThe eighth place is the first big Italian city: Milanwith an average income of 38,989 euros. Rome, with an average gross income of 30,173, does not stand even among the first twenty positions.

From the division of data by region, the gap between north and southern Italy emerges. Lombardy has the highest overall gross income, 29,120 euros. The autonomous province of Bolzano and Emilia-Romagna follow, respectively with 28,780 and 27,080 euros of gross value. To occupy the last three positions: Puglia with 19,600 euros, Molise with 19,570 euros and Calabria with 18,230 euros.
