Man and artist. In the case of Claude Lévêque, the distinction is almost impossible. As shown in the investigation carried out by Releasethe plastic artist has interspersed with everything. All his life and his work are organized to promote his grip and guarantee a breeding ground for victims. This relentless mechanism applies to Claude Lévêque, who admitted part of the facts but challenges having had relations with minors under the age of 15, to be indicted since 2023, the judicial investigation being still in progress. Children, all boys, are between 8 and 14 years old during the first sexual assaults. The facts reported extend over four decades, from 1979 to 2009: an uninterrupted suite of violence, in view of an entire artistic environment. Often presented as his assistants, the victims accompany him everywhere, sometimes coast his works. Laurent, David (1), Armand, Léo, Jean-Paul (1), Mathias… in the past two years, Release was able to collect the words of six men, now aged 35 to 60. Some evoke facts that are not prescribed. Many testify for the first time with an open face, in order to warn, hoping that families can protect their children from other predators.

Their stories reveal A well -established operating mode in the plastic artista real vicious system that traps whole families, siblings, parents, often destroyed by guilt. As often in these cases, one wonders: how can a system last so long without anyone, never, speaking? The stature of the living monument to which we attack the witnesses to silence, or to divert the eyes. However, often, we discover a posteriori that some have tried to say the unspeakable. The artist also worked to erase his traces, to manipulate his victims even years after the facts, remaining present in their lives to continue to exercise his grip. Hopefully the multiplication of these « me too » will help the next ones who will express themselves to be heard. Let us also hope that this affair acts as a detonator in the world of contemporary art, still very hermetic to the liberation of speech.
