Terrible UN estimates on the fall of the population. Croatia is not written well by the end of the century
It is not a novelty that Croatia has problems with the loss of population, but the UN estimate once again reminded the serious problem of depopulation. According to UN estimates based on the rate of fertility, mortality and migration, only UK, France, Switzerland and Sweden will enter the new century with an increase in population. But they are also about migration from other continents.
The biggest decline is traditionally predicted for Eastern Europe, which has lost tens of millions of people since the fall of iron curtains. This is where Ukraine went the worst for which (for clear reasons) predicted to lose 61 percent of the population. The following is Moldova that will halve, and then Lithuania (-57 percent), Latvia (-50 percent), Poland (-49 percent) and Bulgaria (-47 percent).
The UN predicts that despite the rise of foreigners from Nepal, India, Philippines, etc., despite the rise of foreigners, etc., it will lose 44 percent of the population by the end of the century. A similar loss is foreseen for neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina (-46 percent), Serbia loses 35 percent and Montenegro is 38 percent.
The decline in population is also expected in Slovenia (-23 percent), northern Macedonia (-45 percent), Greece (-37 percent), Italy (-40 percent) and Spain (-31 percent).
