Tension in the Transport Ministry – « Yes » to SATA, Kyranakis’ door closed for Liberopoulos

The march with their vehicles from the SATA headquarters to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport were done by the taxi motorists at noon on Thursday.

The motorists even reached the… rails of the Ministry’s entrance, demanding a meeting with the responsible Deputy Minister of Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis.

Invitation to dialogue with a… exclusion

The leadership of the ministry addressed an invitation to a delegation of the Attica Taxi Trade Union, with an asterisk who was not accepted by SATA members: not to cross the gate, his president, Thymios Lymberopoulos.

In particular, according to a statement by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, « a formal invitation was made to a group of taxi representatives to come within the ministry in order to submit their requests and to launch an institutional dialogue ».

« The invitation did not personally address Mr Thymio Lymberopoulos, who has repeatedly carried out verbal violence and threats against ministry workers, in a way that is incompatible with institutional function and respect for public dialogue, » the ministry added, « reinforcing ».

According to the announcement, « attendees refused to participate », with the concentrated motorists declaring that they will not leave unless they met Konstantinos Kyranakis.

In fact, they call on other colleagues to be outside the Ministry of Transport, enhancing mobilization.
